Curry lunch and steamed fish and gobo for dinner

It is good to eat curry as the spices in the curry has lots of health benefits. Turmeric which formed part of the spices contains properties that can help prevent Dementia, Alzheimer and other diseases. Coconut juice used in the curry can also do wonders to your health.
Studies have shown that the Indians has the lowest rate of Alzheimer and Dementia due to their frequent eating of curries.
Dinner was steamed sea bass and a plate of fried sliced gobo (burdock). Gobo is also nutritious and contains many health benefits. First and foremost, it could detoxify the blood, cure cancer, diabetes etc. The Japanese eat a lot of gobo or burdock.
The bottom picture was that of a cheese burger also made by my wife.

Cataract eye surgery

My left eye and vision is improving after the cataract surgery a few days ago.  Most people after age 50 may need to have the cataract surgery because the lenses of the eyes will get cloudier and result in blurred vision that could affect the daily activities like reading, driving etc.
The actual surgery takes about 10 minutes and is painless. It is a procedure whereby the eye surgeon removed the cataract in the eye and replaces it with an artificial lens so you may be able to have a clearer vision for the rest of your life.
I am happy that I had the surgery done on my left eye and will soon be going for the surgery on the right eye.
If one engages the services of a private eye specialist, the total bill for cataract operation of both eyes may come up to $14,000 plus. However, at the government hospitals, after subsidies for Singapore citizens and PRs the bill should be around $2,600. I think one may use his/her Medisave of up to $2,200. The rest may be paid in cash ($400).

My favourite chicken curry

Curry chicken for lunch. It was cooked by my wife as I told her of my wish to eat her home cooked curry chicken. It was a satisfying and lovely meal especially after the surgery. The top picture didn't look like curry because she placed the veggies on top of the curry in the wok. But nevertheless, the veggies worked wonders as they are full of fiber.

Fried chicken breast meat for dinner

Had the fried chicken plus veggie soup and rice for dinner. Now trying to eat less and eat healthy.

Going for the cataract operation

My eyes hurt and vision is not so clear. At my eye checkup, I was told I had to go for a cataract surgery which I did yesterday. I had the surgery on my left eye first and later, the right eye.
The procedure took 10 minutes and it was painless. However, the preparation for the surgery was quite long and caused a lot of anxiety.
At the end of it all, I could see very clearly with my operated left eye.
The top picture was before the surgery and the second was after the surgery. I was offered a cup of Milo and some sandwiches. I should be going for my second surgery for the right eye at an appointed date.

A dreaded "incurable" disease

I had this skin condition known as Pigmented Purpuric Dermatology (PPD) for 2 years. I've consulted dermatologists and TCM practitioners. I've even consulted the National Skin Center specialists but all told me there was no cure for this chronic condition. The coloration and swelling of my legs was due to scratching. One can't help but to scratch due to intense itchiness.
In desperation, I turned to the Lord Jesus Christ for help. In the bible,Jesus demonstrated his healing power and healed many. Read more .

Amazingly, after seeking the Lord Jesus and praying earnestly for him to heal me, this was what happened (see below).

When all the skin specialists, doctors and a professor told me there wasn't any cure for my condition, the merciful Lord Jesus performed a miracle and I was healed. He healed the sick when he was on earth and still heals the sick today if we believe in Him for "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" Hebrew 13:8.
The Lord Jesus also at the same time healed me of a skin condition called Eczema.

Eating at home on Sunday

Crowded Sunday so we prepared our food and ate at home. Breakfast was sandwiches prepared by me. The orange stuff on the slice of bread (top pic) was cheese with other fillings like egg, tuna etc.
The bottom pic was our lunch.

Lunch @ Crystal Jade, Zhongshang Mall, Balestier

Had lunch with relatives of mine at Crystal Jade (Zhongshan Mall). There were 7 of us and we ordered 7 dishes which cost about $200. The standard of food has dropped significantly as compared to the last time. What I can't understand was a charge of 75 cents imposed for a glass of water.
Don't look like we will ever go back there again.

Meals for Thursday

I like the papaya salad so much that my wife prepared another one for me today. We also had the prawn mee from a hawker stall which was delicious ($4).

Dinner at home

We had dandan noodles and potato salad for dinner. Needless to say, it was a simple and yet oishii meal.

Sandwiches and papaya salad

This morning our breakfast was tuna, cheese and egg sandwiches, prepared at home. This was one of the best sandwiches I ever had. The bread was purchased from Four Leaves bakery. Its texture was soft and ideal for sandwiches.

This papaya salad was my lunch. It was delicious and prepared by my wife after I told her I had this at a hawker once before. This was quite similar to the one I ate at the hawker stall. In fact, it was better.

Papaya, fish soup, pies and the Lord's blessings

Our breakfast was 1/4 of a papaya. As for lunch, we proceeded to Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 for our favorite fish soup. The Q was long and it took us 20 minutes before we got our food. We brought from home slices of bitter gourd and cherry tomatoes and added them to the fish soup. It was a very good meal and we were satisfied even though we had to wait for 20 minutes.
A bowl of fish soup (although it's known as fish soup, the dish contains generous slices of mackeral fish plus tofu, bitter gourd, tomatoes etc) and rice cost us $4.50.
In the late afternoon, we had our coffee, chicken pie ($1.80) and a slice of pizza ($1.30) at a nearby coffee shop (picture below). With all the above, we decided to skip dinner.

Perhaps due to my good genes and reasonably healthy eating habits, my BMI is in the healthy range (24.6). My BP is also good or should I say normal, despite of my age. Well, besides good genes and healthy eating habits, I think I am fine because God has been gracious and kind to me.

My systolic reading is 123 and diastolic is 74. My resting pulse rate is 64. All these blessings come from the Lord Jesus and no one else.

1983 Cafe Nanyang and Shabu Sai

We were at Changi Airport Terminal 2 this morning to meet our clients. After that, we went to 1983 Cafe Nanyang for our breakfast. I had the kaya toast set and my wife had the mee rebus set. The prices were cheaper than Ya Kun Kaya and Toast Box. The kaya toast set cost only $4.30 as compared to Ya Kun's $4.80 and Toast Box's $5.40.

Much later in the afternoon, I went to Changi Hospital for my eye checkup. Since Shabu Sai is quite near the hospital, we had our lunch over there ( Eastpoint Mall, next to Simei MRT Station).
We like Shabu Sai because it serves shabu shabu, a type of Japanese steamboat with lots of vegetables and some meat. We were there for the veggies actually and so ordered the $9.90 buffet (for 1 person). At this price, we were allowed to have 2 trays of thinly sliced meat (chicken, beef or pork) per person . We were allowed to eat as much veggies as we wanted. Eating time is limited to 1 hour and 10 minutes. This $9.90++ buffet lunch is available only at Eastpoint Mall Shabu Sai outlet and on weekdays.
Below is the video of me eating the shabu shabu.
