Hazy days and removal of articles in my blog

Hazy days are here to stay

Don't look like it is going to be a fine day as it is still very hazy outside of the house. The PSI is still in the unhealthy range with thick dense haze blowing in from Indonesia.
I feel sorry for many people here, Malaysia, Philippines,Southern Thailand and some parts of Indonesia affected by this menacing haze which was caused by man. Why do I feel sorry for those badly affected by the haze is because I do not have to go to work. I am retired but many who will have to travel to work and to schools in public transport would not be able to escape breathing in the thick poisonous smoke.
It's 9 am and I am stuck at home due to the dense haze that is continually enveloping our country. At the moment, I am content having my cup of Nescafe and watching the stock market.

Is there such a thing called retribution?

I received a call from a guy who identified himself as an ex-steward in Sydney during one of my stay over there. He wanted to see me urgently.
He came over to my hotel room. He told me he was fired from the airline due to a bad report from one of the senior stewardesses. He was a probationary crew and for the slightest thing, one would be fired.
I knew the stewardess who made the report and she was truly a bully. Not many knew about this but she was a secret lover of the big boss. With the backing of the big boss, she was able to get any crew sacked especially those who did not kowtow to her.
The ex-steward wanted vengeance but I advised him against it. I told him that was such a thing as retribution or karma. He took my advice and after a while, he thanked me and left my room.
A few years later, the senior stewardess was sacked for stealing liquor from the aircraft bar. Her lover-boss had retired by that time. She became an alcoholic. She drank a bottle of whisky a day, I was told. Eventually, her liver gave way and she died of liver cirrhosis. Was this retribution for the miseries and hardship she inflicted on the crew?

Stewardesses of the 1960s and 1970s

This is a recent photo of the ex-stewardesess of MSA and SIA (successor of MSA). These ladies' average age is about 68. Some joined the airlines before me and others after me. I joined the airline as a flight steward in February 1968 at age 23.
