Breakfast: Kuri Kuri, Japanese Chestnut Candy

The haze situation is still bad. Many are suffering from respiratory illnesses. As far as possible, one should not be unnecessarily exposed to it by going out of the house.
Therefore, our breakfast this morning consists of a cup of Nescafe and some chestnut cake or candy known as kuri kuri from Japan.
Kuri kuri is made in Miyazaki and one has to order in advance. Kuri kuri is made from chestnut with very little sugar added. The taste is authentic and it is only available in Autumn. One piece (top picture) cost about S$8 or US$6.

Location Meal Allowances (LMA) for SIA Cabin Crew

Many have asked me for the LMA payment for SIA cabin crew and so I produced the table below showing the various payment at different countries the crew night-stop at.The rates of payment is from the current union-management 2012 collective agreement (CA). The new CA is currently being negotiated between the 2 parties.

Chilli Tuna Sandwich Lunch@ Home with a cup of Nescafe

The sandwich fillings are chilli tuna, sliced cucumber, shredded cheese with buttered whole grain bread.

Horse Racing in Singapore

Last Friday's racing was cancelled due to the haze. The Singapore Turf will cancel its racing events if the haze reaches a very unhealthy level (200 to 300 PSI). However, since the today's haze is in the unhealthy range of PSI 137, horse racing will go on as usual.
Talking about horse racing I remember an IFS who punted heavily was badly in debt that his wife left him. He was subsequently made a bankrupt and lost his job. Currently, he is driving a taxi.

Home-cooked Dinner

I ate this with a bowl of Japanese rice. It's a simple but satisfying meal. No way will we go out under the hazy condition to eat at the restaurant or hawker stall.
