Seminar/end of school holiday etc
This was my breakfast at AMK before starting the cabin crew wannabe seminar. Had 9+1 participants. All told me they are going for the 8 July interview at Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore. I wish them luck.
After the seminar at 1pm, we proceeded to a coffee shop nearby and spent another 2 hours together.
I hope I had instilled confidence in them.
I had visitors this evening and they were my former neighbours who had moved out a few years ago to Punggol. They brought their lovely pet dog with them.
It rained in the evening just like yesterday (afternoon) and it cooled down the temperature a bit as well as the humidity.
Today is the last day of the month long school holiday. Tomorrow is also the start of the working day after a long weekend due to Hari Raya Puasa.

Prawn mee day
This prawn mee at Kovan Station hawker center perpetually has a long queue of customers. I was curios and joined the queue this morning. It took 20 minutes before I got my number 4 pork ribs prawn mee ($5). I was a bit disappointed because I thought it must have been fantastically yummy judging by the long queue of customers. Won't say it wasn't nice but not worth the waiting/queuing time.
Not satisfied with the prawn mee at Kovan, we went to Serangoon Central for another prawn mee in the evening. This one is only $3.50 and a little better than the one at Kovan. Besides, there was no queue and the hawker served us instead of the "self-service" type at Kovan.

Hawker food and Texas Chicken for today
Went to Kovan food center and had curry rice ($4), soon kueh ($3 for 3 pcs) and coconut ($2.80).
The Hainanese curry rice queue was long but the hawkers were fast and competent. The soon kueh
(turnip+mushroom etc) was very good and tasty.
Dinner was 2 piece combo set Texas Chicken ($8.40). Also had an ice cream cone for $1. The mashed potato and chicken were delicious and the restaurant was almost empty except for a few other diners.

Dinner at IndoChine@ Gardens by The Bay
Was at SuperTree IndoChine Gardens by The Bay this evening for dinner with friends. Didn't snap many photos as I was busy chatting with my friends. It's a beautiful place overlooking the harbour and the night lights. Will take more photos on the next visit. Needless to say the dinner was yummy. I particularly love the roast lamb and the starter (in the picture).

Wanton mee and Korean bi bim bap
Had the wanton mee ($3.30) at a Bukit Merah coffee shop for breakfast. As for lunch, we had bi bim bap which was cooked by my wife. Both tasted super good.
Few facts about bi bim bap:
Bi bim bap is a Korean dish. The word literally means "mixed rice". It is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang (a fermented soybean paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The hot dish is stirred together thoroughly just before eating.
In South Korea, Jeonju, Jinju, and Tongyeong are especially famous for their versions of bibimbap. In 2011, it was listed at number 40 on the World's 50 most delicious foods readers' poll compiled by CNN Travel.

Dessert at Saizeriya + dinner at home
Afternoon dessert at Saizeriya. The topmost picture is the iced tiramisu ($4.90) and the second picture is the oreo cheese cake ($3.90). The latter tasted better than the tiramisu.
I noticed the ex-IFS is no longer working at Saizeriya. Perhaps, he could not cope with the robust work due to his age (67) and was asked to leave. Poor chap.

Oyakodon for today's dinner
Oyakodon , literally "parent-and-child donburi", is a donburi, or Japanese rice bowl dish, in which chicken, egg, sliced scallion (or sometimes regular onions), and other ingredients are all simmered together in a sauce and then served on top of a large bowl of rice. This was our dinner on Friday evening. There was also a bowl of miso soup, beni shoga or sliced pickled ginger. We also included a plateful of broccoli with mayonnaise as dressing
Lontong for lunch
Lontong is one of my favourite Malay dishes. I had this plate of lontong ($3) at the Kovan hawker center for lunch. It wasn't fantastic but quite nice except that the rice dumplings were a little hard. The boiled egg wasn't as fresh, I thought. Overall, many won't mind eating this lontong because it is quite cheap.
