Inexpensive, meaty fish head for assam pedas

You won't believe when I tell you we got the whole fish head plus some extra meat for only $1.90 or 150 Yen. Originally, it was going for 300 Yen but since there was an oversupply, the supermarket sold each for 150 Yen (tax included). It's not only inexpensive but fresh.
My wife cooked assam pedas with the fish head and as usual it turned out to be superb!

A land flowing with milk and honey

God's word is true and eternal and it cannot fail. The above video is a testimony of his word.
In Exodus 3:17, God told the children of Israel:
"And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey".

Assam Pedas for dinner

This dish is sting ray in assam pedas gravy. I've never tasted a better one than this, which is cooked by my talented wife. We bought the ray from Giant Super Market and it was fresh.

Had a 1/4 of a small watermelon for breakfast. Lunch was champon noodles and dinner was ikan pari (sting ray) assam pedas and a plate of broccoli. The meals were cooked by my talented wife. They were yummy and the water melon was sweet. All products were purchased from Giant.

Last night home cooked dinner

Since we ate hawker food for lunch (noodles), we decided to have home cooked dinner. The assam fish was a delightful dish and the fried chicken was even more tastier. We also have lots of boiled Australian broccoli with home made dressing.

Ikan pari (sting ray) assam pedas and spicy sotong (squid)

Dissatisfied with the assam pedas fish at Serangoon Gardens yesterday, we went to the Chinese stall at Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 (Chong Boon Market) that sells the above. This would be my third time visiting this stall. Admittedly, this time the assam sting ray wasn't as good as on the previous occasion. The reason being the sting ray was not soaked in the assam gravy for a long time. We were there for an early lunch. The squid was so so. The best time to eat is in the evening when the assam gravy has been cooked a few hours earlier and the fish, squid and chicken meat had been soaked in the gravy for a while.
For the 3 dishes and 3 bowls of rice, we paid $18 which is quite reasonable.

Fruits and claypot dinner

The breakfast was some cut fruits like oranges, jack fruits and mango. It's refreshing to have fruits in the morning particularly now that the weather is hot and humid. Eating fruits also prevent constipation.
Dinner was at a hawker stall in Ang Mo Kio Ave 10. It was at Yu Fa Claypot Delights. The dinner was made up of 3 types of dishes, namely assam sting ray, pork trotters in vinegar and ginger plus braised pork with preserved vegetables and tau pok. The meal was superb and cheap ($16 for 2).
