Breakfast, lunch at home, dinner @ Yoshinoya
I had tang hoon (glass noodles) for breakfast. Lunch was rice, miso soup, fried bitter gourd with cherry tomatoes and eggs and a plate of home made Japanese char siew. Also had an orange after lunch.
Eating home cooked food is, in my opinion is a healthier choice. Only issue with cooking is the amount of time and work involved. Doing the dishes is also a chore. Eating out is convenient but not necessarily healthy as my blogger friend pointed out in his blog.
Beef with rice or "Beef Bowl" is one of my favorite Japanese dishes. I had it for dinner at Compass One Mall. I opted for just a bowl which cost $6.50. In Japan, the same dish cost about $4 and taste even better.
I had ice kachang for dessert from Kopitiam ($2.20, picture below)

Having afternoon snacks at Compass One Kopitiam
We visited Kopitiam at Compass One in the late afternoon for snacks. We ordered fried carrot cake ($4), kopi c kosong ($1.60), big pow ($1.60) and siew mai ($2.60 for 4). Kopitiam is a foodcourt on the 4 floor of Compass One shopping mall. There is a bus interchange nearby and an MRT station (Sengkang)on the N.E. Line. The place is not as crowded as during lunch and dinner hours.
There are more than 60 restaurants and cafe on the ground floor as well as at the basement level.
When you dine at Kopitiam, use the Kopitiam card which is a dinning stored value card and you will get a 10% discount on food and drinks.
Payment is via the icash box ( pic below). You may use cash or the Kopitiam card for payment. There are also cash top up machines situated inside Kopitiam.

Dinner@ Sengkang Square Kopitiam
Had our dinner at Sengkang Square Kopitiam this evening. The tim sum was highly recommended by a fellow blogger which turned out to be really nice. The pad thai was cheap and good, comparable to those sold at Golden Mile. In fact, the pad thai chef was a Thai lady. A plate like the one above is $3.60 ($4 - 10% if use Kopitiam card).
If you are driving there, the carpark accepts only Kopitiam card, so be sure to buy a Kopitiam card if did not own one.
The place is situated next to the Sengkang bus interchange and the Sengkang MRT station.
