Yummy dinner but lousy roasted meat lunch
The above was our dinner which was yummy and nutritious. We had roasted meat lunch at Sengkang Happy Hawker coffee shop. The meat was surprisingly not tasty as expected. We suspect the meat, including the roasted duck was not well roasted or cooked. We didn't finish our lunch and left with a bad taste in our mouth. Fortunately, we didn't suffer any food poisoning. My wife suggested that we do not post pictures of the roasted meat.

Another fireworks at Ubin Thai Buddhist Temple
Another night of fireworks by the Ubin Thai Buddhist Temple. This is the last day of this year festival. Usually it carries on for a month but this year, it is only for a week. Noticed that it has spent a lot of money on the festivities and the expensive two nights of fireworks.

Bonus of 2.41 months to be paid to SIA staff
I am happy to hear SIA is rewarding its staff and crew with a 2.41 month bonus this year. As usual, SIA is generous in giving bonuses to its staff and dividends to its shareholders (35 cents for each share). SIA made S$806 million for year 2015-2016.
Had I still be working for SIA, I will get about $14, 460 as this year's bonus ( based on my last drawn basic salary of $6,000).
SIA crew and staff have been working very hard and deserved the bonus payment.
If I am not mistaken, SIA gave its employees a 1.5 month bonus last year plus $500 for SG50.

We had rice with mapo tofu and fried beef with cabbage/bean sprouts for our dinner. Following dinner we ate yellow/red flesh watermelon and papaya. The fruits were juicy, refreshing and sweet.

Famous Outram Park Char Kway Teow and Dinner @ home
I was at Chinatown this afternoon and even though I was not hungry I would not want to give this famous char kway teow a miss. Fortunately, it was around 2:30pm and the lunch time crowd has dwindled or else there will be a long queue. Even at this time there were people who "tar pow" many packets and I had to wait 15 minutes before I got mine.
I ordered the $3 plate and a cup of kopi O (90 cts) from next door kopi stall. The CKT and kopi were satisfying.
The top picture is a dish called Nikujaga. It is a Japanese dish of meat, potatoes and onion stewed in sweetened soy sauce, sometimes with ito konnyaku and vegetables. Generally, potatoes make up the bulk of the dish, with meat mostly serving as a source of flavor. It is usually boiled until most of the liquid has been reduced.Thinly sliced beef is the most common meat used, although minced/ground beef is also popular. Pork is often used instead of beef in eastern Japan.
Nikujaga is a common home-cooked winter dish, served with a bowl of white rice and miso soup.
The centre is fried "glass noodles" with mushrooms, minced meat and veggie while the last one is the psyllium husk coffee jelly topped up with whipped cream.
