Woke up early, Car wash and Pasar Malam visit

Got up early this morning around 6 am. It is not unusual for me to wake up early. As a kid, I used to wake up as early as 5am. I would scout around my kampong and picked the fruits that had dropped overnight. Fruits that were overripe would drop with the slight breeze. They were very sweet. The fruits I am talking about were jambu or rose apples, mangosteens , guava, rambutans etc.
The other thing I would do was to pick hens' eggs and later sold them to the provision shop owner for 10 cent each. Collecting 2 to 3 eggs a day was a norm for me. The money from the sale of the eggs would enable me to spend freely in the school tuck shop.
Perhaps, waking up early is a habit I've picked up as a kid or I am one guy who does not require much sleep. For me, 6 hours of sleep is sufficient.
When I was younger, I would go out and jogged in the early morning before going to the office or morning flights. These days with age catching up, I have given up jogging and settled for brisk walking. My legs do give trouble if I walk too much or too long. I've a friend 2 years younger than me and had recently gone for a kneecap replacement. He told me he had suffered for 10 years and decided to have the surgery which is by no means a fun thing. Nevertheless, when he fully recovers sometime in January next year, he will enjoy walking again.

A visit to a Pasar Malam (night market)

Although this is known as a "night market" it starts its operation before dusk around 5pm. The night market will go full steam from about 7pm and last until late.
The night markets are not as popular as say 20 or 30 years ago when there were less shopping malls in Singapore. The mere mention of the word would excite me when I was a kid. The night markets would be set up in many places and they would move around the island. These days, we have air conditioned shopping malls and centers which offer better quality stuff than the night markets.

Today's lunch was the Hainanese curry pork cutlet rice and dinner was just a simple soft French toast (with condense milk) set at Toast Box. The rice meal was not too bad considering it was only $4.50. The soft French set was delicious and the tea was delightful ($6).

Yesterday's home-cooked meals plus Texas Chicken

Besides the usual fruits and kopi for breakfast yesterday, we cooked the prawn noodle for lunch and the rice set for dinner. Don't know whether one would believe me when I said we had Texas Chicken 3 piece combo set for supper. On top of that we ordered extra 2 biscuits.
It didn't surprise me when I stepped on the weighing scale this morning, yes up 600 grams!

"Cancer patients shouldn't die" says Dr Stephen Mak

Please share this post as much as possible.

*Eating Fruit on Empty Stomach*

Cancer patients shouldn't die..

This will open your eyes ! Read to the end and then send it on to all on your e-list. I just did !

Dr Stephen Mak treats terminal ill cancer patients by an "un-orthodox" way and many patients recovered.

Before he used solar energy to clear the illnesses of his patients, he believes on natural healing in the body against illnesses.
See his article below.

"It is one of the strategies to heal cancer. As of late, my success rate in curing cancer is about 80%."

"Cancer patients shouldn't die.
*The cure for cancer is already found - *its in the way we eat fruits.*"

"It is whether you believe it or not."

"I am sorry for the hundreds of cancer patients who die under the conventional treatments."

*EATING FRUIT*

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths.

It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know *how* and *when* to eat the fruits.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

*IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!*

*FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH*

If you *eat fruits on empty stomach*, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

*_FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD._*

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit.

The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so due to the bread taken before the fruit.

In the meantime the whole meal of bread & fruit rots and ferments and turns to acid.

The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an *empty stomach* *or before your meals !*

You have heard people complaining :

Every time I eat *watermelon* 🍉 I burp, when I eat *durian* 🍈 my stomach bloats up, when I eat a *banana* 🍌 I feel like running to the toilet, etc.. etc..

Actually all this will not arise if you *eat the fruit on an empty stomach.*

The fruit mixes with the putrefying of other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat !

Greying hair, loss of hair, balding, nervous outbursts and dark circles under the eyes all these will *NOT* *happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.*

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange 🍊 and lemon 🍋 are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter.

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the  *SECRET of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.*

When you need to drink fruit juice - *drink only fresh fruit juice,* *NOT* from the cans, packs or bottles.

*Don't* even drink juice that has been heated up.

*Don't* eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all.

You only get its taste.
_Cooking destroys all the vitamins._

But eating a *whole fruit* is better than drinking the juice.

If you should *drink the fresh fruit juice*, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse or detoxify your body.

Just eat fruits and drink fresh fruit juice throughout the 3 days.

And you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look !

*KIWI fruit:*
Tiny but mighty.
This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. _Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange._

*APPLE:*🍎🍏
An *apple* a day keeps the doctor away?
Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby _helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke._

*STRAWBERRY:*🍓🍓
Protective Fruit.
*Strawberries* have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & _protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging and free radicals._

*ORANGE :*🍊🍊
Sweetest medicine.
Taking 2-4 *oranges* a day may _help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer._

*WATERMELON:*🍉🍉
Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which _helps boost our immune system._

They are also *a key source of lycopene the cancer fighting oxidant.*
Other nutrients found in *watermelon* 🍉 _are Vitamin C & Potassium._

*GUAVA & PAPAYA:*🍑🍑
Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their _high vitamin C content._

*Guava* is also rich in fiber, which _helps prevent constipation._

*Papaya* is rich in carotene; this is _good for your eyes._

*Drinking COLD water or drinks after a meal = CANCER*

Can you believe this ?

For those who like to drink cold water or cold drinks, this article is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold water or cold drinks after a meal.

However, *the cold water or drinks will solidify the oily stuff that you have just eaten.*

_It will slow down the digestion._

Once this *'sludge' reacts with the acid*, it will break down and be *absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food.*

_It will line the intestine._

Very soon, *this will turn into FATS and lead to CANCER !*

_*It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.*_

Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says:
if everyone who gets this msg & share it to other people you can be sure that you'll save at least one life.

So lets do it! 😃😄

Steaks, Cakes set & Nene Chicken

Last night, I was supposed to have steak for my dinner with my friends but it turned out that we had Japanese food instead. Therefore today my wife and I decided to go Waterway Point and have steak for lunch. After the mouth-watering sirloin steaks, we proceeded to Cedele for our desserts and coffee. The cheese cake was as good as the strawberry fields cake. They were both irresistible!
As for dinner, we tried the Korean Nene Chicken. The 3 piece chicken set is $10.90c. I like the fries as they were quite large and hot. Overall, the spicy sauce was sweet and delightful. We will be back soon.

A visit to Tiong Bahru Hawker Center on a Sunday

Not satisfied with yesterday's char kway teow from Tiong Bahru, we decided to pay it a visit again. Surprisingly, being a Sunday the place wasn't even 50% full. By the time we arrived, some of the stalls were shut.
The first item we ordered was the Fried Hokkien Mee ($3) followed by the Chwee Kuah ($2) and Char Siew Duck Rice ($5). Like yesterday's CKT, the taste was nothing spectacular. Only the kopi O (90c)was good.
The place was cleaner and well kept, better than most like Chong Pang, Tampines and other hawker centers in Singapore.
Please note that there is no free car parking on Sunday and public holidays.

After the usual breakfast of fruits, kopi O and a slice of thick cheese toast, we went to Tiong Bahru hawker centre in the afternoon and tried the famous Tiong Bahru Char Kway Teow.
To be honest, we think the CKT does not deserves the credit from so many. To me and my wife, the CKT was ordinary. In fact, the best one is still the Outram Park CKT in China Town.

Dinner @ Crystal Jade Kitchen

Last night dinner with my 3 other friends was at Zhongshan Mall situated at 20 Ah Hood Road off Balestier Road. The name of the restaurant was Crystal Jade Kitchen. As usual the food was excellent and prices reasonable. Besides 6 other dishes, we ordered the Peking Duck which was $48. If one uses a debit/credit card from DBS/POSB for payment then there is  $10 discount on for the Peking Duck. Unfortunately, we do not have those cards with us. The total bill came to $148.
For information, there is a daily 2 hour free parking at Zhongshan Mall. There is also a free daily shuttle service.

Chinese Opera, not so popular in SG nowadays.

The festivities of the Ubin Thai Buddhist Temple is still ongoing, albeit on a smaller scale. Last night, it staged the Hokkien opera show which is not so popular these days. The younger folks do not know how to appreciate it.

Ah Seng Braised Duck Rice

Had Ah Seng's braised duck for lunch. When we arrived at 12 noon there was a long queue. Patiently, I joined the queue as this is one meal that I do not want to miss. Overall, the meal was satisfying and the price was reasonable ($11 for all the above).

Marine Parade Char Kway Teow

We were at the Marine Parade vicinity this afternoon and decided to try the so called famous char kway teow there. The stall is at the Marine Parade hawker center. It is called the "Apollo Fresh Cockle Fried Kway Teow". Many has said that the food was good. I agree with them but that was perhaps 10 years ago. Now the kway teow is just ordinary with plenty of garlic. We will definitely avoid this char kway teow again. I read one review where the hawker assistant wanted to pick a fight with his customer.. more here

Accident in Zurich

The belly of an aircraft has been accidentally hit by a water servicing truck at Zurich yesterday resulting in a long delay. News are still sketchy at this point.

Few hours later:

The water servicing truck driver inadvertently stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes and crashed into the belly of the aircraft damaging the hydraulic flap covering. The truck top was embedded within the underside of the fuselage. However, there was no fuel leakage.
Cabin crew was recalled back to their hotel as there may be a long delay.

Farewell suckling pig dinner for temple's members

Rarely do they serve suckling pigs at dinner in such places. If they do, it means they are spending quite a bit because dinner with suckling pig is not only expensive but prestigious. A table for 10 people (dinner) in the heartland may cost about $1,000 with suckling pigs and $800 without. It usually comes with free flow of beer, cold drinks and Chinese tea.

Prawns, Sambal kangkong, potatoes salad lunch

Today's lunch

Bought the prawns from a wet market at Yishun. The price is quite ok ( 12 pcs or 500 grams for $14).

Yesterday's lunch at Eng's Noodles,Tanjong Katong Road

This is one of the best wanton noodles in Singapore. I dare not put too much chilly sauce on it because it is super hot and can cause stomach upset. Btw, the wantons are hidden underneath the noodles. This is Eng's way of keeping the wantons soft and tasty.

At first I thought the festivities would stop after last Sunday's fireworks but it didn't. Last night, after a 2 day break, they continued and this time with variety shows and a grand dinner. The dinner was for invited guests and members only. I heard the PM was also invited.
I managed to catch a glimpse of last night's festivities and uploaded them onto YouTube. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Another fireworks at Ubin Thai Buddhist Temple

Another night of fireworks by the Ubin Thai Buddhist Temple. This is the last day of this year festival. Usually it carries on for a month but this year, it is only for a week. Noticed that it has spent a lot of money on the festivities and the expensive two nights of fireworks.

Last night dinner was home-prepared pork chop

Today's lunch at home
