Lunch @ 5 by Sans Facon French Restaurant

The meal was average. The beef steak ($29) was a little tough. The cheese cake was not worth the $9 paid. The lamb shank ($29) lacked the lamb taste and the Salad Burrata ($19) was so so.
The service was good and the ambience nice.

CNY goodies for senior citizens

Our residents' committee has generously distributed the above Chinese New Year goodies to all senior citizens. There was also an ang pow containing a $10 note.
This is my first time getting the goodies as most time I was not in SG during the CNY season.
Our MP is none other than Mr Lee Hsien Loong, our Prime Minister.
Many thanks to the committee and our beloved PM!

Are Singaporeans able to do this?

These are foreign workers. Besides the construction of HDB flats, MRT lines etc they can also paint tall buildings like the one above. The jobs come with big risks like falling off the gondola etc.
We need these workers because we don't have the expertise or guts to do the job like the above. Yet, these workers are paid less than S$1,000 per month.

Home cooked laksa with ready made paste

I bought the above ingredients from Sheng Siong supermarket. The brand name of
the laksa paste is Hai's. You may also add a bit of dry shrimps  (pound) and fry it with the paste in hot oil. After that add about 600 to 800 ml of water and 200 ml of coconut milk. Boil the mixture with some tau pok. Then pour the gravy into a bowl of cooked laksa noodles and towgay. You may add some sliced fish cake and cockles plus a teaspoon of sambal. To enhance the flavour, you may also put in some laksa leaves. The end result is the laksa is as tasty as the famous Yishun 928 laksa. It is very simple and convenient to make your own laksa with ready made paste. Try it and probably you won't want to eat the hawkers' laksa anymore.

Singapore beef noodles

I can be anywhere in the world but one dish I really miss is the Hwa Heng Beef   Noodles. The stall is located at the hawker centre next to Boon Keng MRT Station.
It is operational from Wednesday to Saturday from morning (not sure of the time)   till 2.30 pm.
A bowl of soup or dry noodles with beef, towgay, tendon etc cost from $5 to $7. The one in the photo is $6 with beef and beef tendon.
