I revisited Northpoint City again and tried the Pan Mee ($4) from Malaysia Chiak. The mee was like the Singapore home-made bain mian. The texture was smooth but somehow, the chilli sauce etc lacked the "punch" or "kick" as we call it. Overall, the taste was quite good.
Since, I was there just passed 3pm, I ordered a cup of local coffee which cost only 50 cents. This is the cheapest coffee in SG but this low price (50 cts) for a cup of coffee/tea is only available from 3pm till 5pm on a weekday.
Just before I left Yishun, I went to Block 928 and "tar pow" our favourite laksa. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no queue at this laksa stall. I think the newly opened Northpoint City which has more than a hundred eateries, has overshadowed this laksa. I will be very sad if the laksa stall closes due to poor business.

Yishun 928 laksa
The daily queue for this laksa at Yishun Blk 928, Yishun Central is perpetually long. It is popular because it is cheap and tasty. This place has been selling laksa for umpteen years. I believe they, the laksa hawkers must be making about 30k nett profit a month. Today is my first visit after a few months.

Yishun Laksa
Since we were quite free today, we went to Yishun for our favourite laksa. Before the laksa, I had a haircut nearby.
The laksa is still as good as the last time we ate about a month ago. Towards the later part of the afternoon, the laksa gravy was thicker and tastier.
After laksa, we proceeded to a coffee shop nearby for our favourite "big pow". A little disappointed as the pow wasn't as juicy as I expected.
The ice tea was refreshingly tasty as compared to the one which we usually drink at a coffee shop near our home.

MP's alleged affair with ex stewardess
I can't help but blog about the case of PAP MP who had to resign from his position and from the PAP due to his alleged extra-marital affair with former leading stewardess Wendy Lim.
It is sad that a good MP like David had his career so called destroyed by a woman.
In Singapore, MPs are supposed to be "saints". This is not the first time an MP was asked to step down because of alleged extra-marital affair.
Just a few years back, we had another PAP MP with the same issue. Then there was an opposition ward MP who was asked to step down due to similar circumstances.
But in David's case it was an ex SIA leading stewardess and that's one of the reasons I blog about it.

We drove about 12 km away to eat our favourite laksa this afternoon. Delicious is the word to describe the taste of the laksa. It is being sold at a stall at block 928 Yishun Central, 1 minute walk from the bus interchange and 5 minutes walk from the Yishun MRT Station.
Cost is $3.30 for a big bowl (above) and $2.80 for a slightly smaller bowl.

Breakfast: 928 Yishun Laksa
928 Yishun Laksa is at Block 928, Yishun Central 1. It closes on every Sunday. Operating hours are from 10am till 7pm or while stock last. A big bowl cost $3.30 and a small one $2.80. The gravy and chilli is good. Wish the see-hum or cockles are bigger. The queue is usually long especially during lunch time. The long queue is also due to people tarpowing (take-away) many packets of laksa.
