Singapore beef noodles

I can be anywhere in the world but one dish I really miss is the Hwa Heng Beef   Noodles. The stall is located at the hawker centre next to Boon Keng MRT Station.
It is operational from Wednesday to Saturday from morning (not sure of the time)   till 2.30 pm.
A bowl of soup or dry noodles with beef, towgay, tendon etc cost from $5 to $7. The one in the photo is $6 with beef and beef tendon.

Harvesting Broccoli and Turnips

Finally, the above vegetables are harvested. The broccoli tasted as good as the turnips or daikon as it is known in Japan.

Winter vegetables

The broccoli, cabbage and daikon are doing well even when we left them alone for the last 2 months. These are winter vegetables and needed minimum water and care. The cold winter is able to sustain them.
The bottom picture are vegetables from our garden except for the carrots and meat. They are pressured cooked and had it for dinner.

A New Year in Japan

It is sunny but quite cold in the afternoon with a temperature between 4 and 5 the whole day. I kind of like the slightly cold weather but does not like the chilly wind.
As far as Covid 19 goes, it is bad in the big cities like Tokyo and Osaka. Fukuoka is not as bad although it is worse than in SG. Tokyo record and average of 1,000 new cases a day. Japan as a whole record around 3,500 to 4,000 a day in recent months.

Celebrating birthday with my close relatives. Ambience and food is good but best of all is the companionship.

Sheng Siong supermart overcharged by mistake?

We bought 2 bundles of spinach (1 red & 1 round) from Sheng Siong supermarket this morning but was charged for 3 bundles (2 red & 1 round). We didn't realised it until we got home when we, out of curiosity, checked the receipt. Could this overcharging a mistake on the part of the cashier? Could this "mistake" be made frequently without the customers knowing it? We seldom check the receipt against what we bought as we trust the supermarket. We could have disputed the matter but the supermaket is a distance away and it's not worth our time and effort to travel all the way to rectify the issue. I blog the matter so as to bring awareness to all.
