I heard the green coloured MBS $1,000 chips recently replaced the old ones. But how does the old $1,000 looks like? I can't find in the internet.

Brunch@ bus interchange canteen

The otah was placed on top of a fried egg (partially hidden) sitting on the bee hoon. This meal cost only $3.10 and the kopi O was 0.80 cts. For the price I have no complaint as the food was quite delicious and the Kopi O was hot and good.

Lacking in etiquette, inconsiderate mother

How could one allow a child or be it anyone stand on the seat of a bus or train without removing the shoes? What say you?

Home cooked lunch & dinner

Grated onion, smoked slamon, selar fish and mushrooms

Oyakodon or Japanese chicken & egg rice bowl

Magnetic overhead light/ $5 for 5 buns@ Proofer Bakery

Been scouting around for this battery operated lamp for sometime and managed to discover it at Japan Home. During the night if one wants to do some short time reading in bed it would not disturb or wake one's partner up.

Air purifier/humidifier needed to keep the air clean

An air purifier is a device which removes contaminants from the air in a room. These devices are commonly marketed as being beneficial to allergy sufferers and asthmatics, and at reducing or eliminating second-hand tobacco smoke.Dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and dust mite faeces can act as allergens, triggering allergies in sensitive people. Smoke particles and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can pose a risk to health.
I've one of these purifiers in my room as I am suffering from some kind of allergy (will be taking allergy test soon).
The red dot (below the figure 74) in the topmost picture indicated that some kind of strong smell or odour has entered the room. The white colour showed the odour was slowly vanishing and the green colour indicated the odour was gone. (the indicator turned red because outside my flat grass cutting was in progress and the diesel smell from the machine invaded my room).

Singapore Blogger Ordered to Pay S$150,000 for Defaming Premier -- By Andrea Tan | Bloomberg

(Bloomberg) -- Blogger Roy Ngerng must pay S$150,000 ($106,000) to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for defaming him and suggesting the premier criminally misappropriated the country’s pension fund savings.
“Reputation is a priceless asset that takes years of effort to build,” Singapore High Court Justice Lee Seiu Kin said in a ruling on Thursday. “The defamation of public leaders has thus been taken seriously by the courts.”
Lee, 63, had rejected Ngerng’s multiple apologies and two offers for damages of as much as S$10,000. The blogger’s apologies weren’t sincere and Ngerng continued aggravating the offense including casting doubt on the judiciary, Lee had testified in court earlier this year. The premier should get damages higher than the S$100,000 to S$400,000 range for defamation awards in previous cases involving senior government leaders, his lawyer Davinder Singh had said.
The blogger was paid S$3,356 a month before he was fired in June last year as a patient coordinator at a public hospital. He ran in a six-member team to contest in Lee’s district during the Sept. 11 general elections.
“I’ll discuss with my lawyer on the next step,” Ngerng, 34, said in a phone interview. “I’m trying to get on with my life and it’s been difficult looking for a job.”
Singapore Democratic Party leader Chee Soon Juan was bankrupted in 2006 after failing to pay in full S$500,000 in damages for defaming former prime ministers Lee Kuan Yew and Goh Chok Tong. Chee had his bankruptcy annulled in 2012. The late opposition leader Joshua Benjamin Jeyaretnam was declared bankrupt over libel damages. He was later discharged from bankruptcy in 2007.
The case is Lee Hsien Loong v Roy Ngerng Yi Ling, S569/2014. Singapore High Court.

Melbourne also has many foreign workers

Like Singapore, Melbourne has numerous foreign workers especially the unskilled ones from China, Pakistan and Middle Eastern countries.
I was in Melbourne not too long ago and was surprised at the number of foreign workers in the city.
The cab driver who took me from the airport to my hotel was a guy from one of the Middle Eastern countries.
During my departure from the hotel a week later, the cab driver was from India. He told me he was on a student visa of some sort. We didn't talk much.

Wherever, I went in the city especially the cafes and restaurants, the waiters and waitresses were either  from China or the countries I mentioned above.
What beats me was that instead of the usual Italians or Greeks migrants serving Italian/Greek food, the Chinese were doing it (I have not been to Melbourne since I stopped flying 12 years ago). You will find Indians selling Chinese food at the eateries or cafes.
Many years ago whenever I visited Melbourne, the Australians were the cab drivers. The restaurants, bars, eateries were manned by the Australians. The Chinese restaurants were owned and run by the Australian Chinese. But it's kind of different now. I am not saying it's a bad thing to have these foreign workers. Perhaps, like Singapore Australia now faces a shortage of these unskilled workers.

NOBLE is up 7.7% in its share price

Noble share is up 0.03 cts to 0.42 or 7.7% on a volume of 67.5 million done at the close. It was relatively good for its shareholders.
Tomorrow may be even better I was told. Lets wait and see.
