SGD$10 lunch in a Japanese restaurant

Visited a popular restaurant in Japan and had lunch there today. We were there as early as 11 am which is the opening time. Within the next 10 minutes before we got our food, the place was already crowded. We ordered the most popular dish (set lunch) which was the Hamburg steak. It came with some noodles and a plate of fried eggplants and shredded cabbage. Included in the set was also a cup of delicious miso soup and a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee. The meal was very good considering the price of S$10 for a set. We will be returning for another meal in the near future.

Beef Cheese Burger (Homemade)

It is raining the whole morning and so we decided to make our own beef and cheese burgers instead of going out in the rain for lunch. Off course we can't match the burgers from McDonnel's or Burger King but we will try to make them as delicious as possible.

Fishing in Japan

In 1980, I caught a garoupa off the Bedok coast (top picture)

Few weeks ago, I caught another garoupa of almost the same size as the one in 1980. This time it was off the coast of Shimonoseki, Southern Japan in the year 2021 (41 years later).
Fishing has always been my hobby but since the 1980s, I have not done any fishing as the water off Singapore do not have many fishes anymore. The sea is polluted and over fishing is also the reason for not having many fishes. But oh boy I am sure glad that I can fish in Japan. Besides, we are lucky to have neighbors who are also fishing enthusiasts. We (my wife & I) have been on fishing trips with our neighbors on 3 occasions.

Back blogging again after a long absence

I am back after a long hiatus. Reason for my long absence is because I have some issues with Google over the advertisements that appear in this blog. Am glad it is resolved now and so will continue to carry on my blogging.

Currently, I am residing in Japan and happy about it due to the low Covid infection rate. I am in the southern part of Japan in the prefecture of Fukuoka. Right now the daily infection is in the double digit and unlike Singapore where I used to live, is nearing 3,000 cases.

Having shabu shabu for lunch

This is supposedly a healthy meal. It is also known as Japanese Steamboat. One may add meat like pork, chicken, beef etc with all types of vegetables. Sauces here are also homemade. The pork, prawns and mushrooms are purchased from a supermart. The rest of the vegetables were from our garden.

Have not eaten home prepared Japanese food for ages. Above is our lunch. It is made up of saba fish stuffed with mentai or fish roe, miso soup, tofu, fried egg, sliced onions and a bowl of Japanese white rice.

Cancer prevention and cure

The above is from a tree bark in Japan. Many have been cured of prostate, stomach, lung and many types of cancer. The best part is if you consume it, it can even prevent you from becoming a cancer victim.
