Giant supermart is the way to go
I only used my Passion Card which is my Link Card twice at Giant and they gave me a rebate of $1.51 cts. The Passion Card is free of charge unlike the NTUC FairPrice card which we had to pay $9 subscription every month.
Besides, on every Tuesday if I shop at Giant, they will give me a 3% discount of my total purchase because I am a senior citizen (all over 60 is entitled to a 3% discount on Tue).
Therefore, I have stopped shopping at FairPrice.
Another thing I noticed is that the prices of most items at FairPrice are more expensive than at Giant...example 100 gram of Australian broccoli at Giant is 49c whereas at FP it is 71c!

Goodbye NTUC FairPrice, Hello Giant
This is my lunch, nothing much though except the mabo tofu and broccoli. Later in the afternoon, we may be shopping for our groceries at Giant. We are now reluctant to shop at NTUC FairPrice as their policy governing membership and rebates are very misleading.
In May 2016, we were stopped at the entrance of a FairPrice supermart by some sales people from NTUC. They persuaded my wife to become a member of the NTUC FairPrice. They explained that as long as we patronize FairPrice, we will get back the $9 per month subscription fees (deducted from our bank account through GIRO) at the end of each year. Now after 16 months of payment of the $9 monthly, we have yet to receive any refund. When we called them, they told my wife that she was not entitled to the refund of $144 unless she buy some NTUC shares. On that note, my wife told them she would like to resign from the membership. Besides buying from FairPrice at the average of $250 per month of groceries, we had to fork out $144 which was eventually forfeited.
Now you understand why we stopped shopping at FairPrice.

Powerball jackpot, largest ever won by one ticket in the US.
A single lottery ticket worth US$758 million has won the largest lottery prize in US history a few days ago by a 52 year old woman. What would you do with all that money? When converted to S$ it is about $986 million. The winner opted to take cash minus the taxes and it came to S$440 million.
I will buy a beautiful house, get myself a powerful expensive car, donate some to charity and go for a nice long vacation. Would you do the same?

Ciabatta sandwich for breakfast
Ciabatta is the Italian's answer to the French baguette. To me, ciabatta taste better than the baguette because it is softer and when warmed up in the toaster, it can be crispy. We bought the ciabatta from Giant supermarket which is inexpensive. The fillings were fried egg, cheese, bits of chicken meat and cherry tomatoes. It made my day after eating the above, accompanied by a cup of hot milo.
Lunch but no dinner today
Lunch was made up of fried chili prawns, fried spicy tempeh with okra, prawn based miso soup, coleslaw and Japanese white rice.
We came across this cute little toy poodle at a shop in Japan. It reminded us of our late toy poodle Chibee who passed away last year of a rare blood disease. Each time we play this video, we would recall all the wonderful memories of our late cute and lovable pet.

Bought 2 sea bass from Giant at $3.90 each and cooked it our style. Although the fish were fresh, my wife preferred to cook them with sauces made from vinegar, black soya souce etc. The dish don't have much appeal but it tasted great.
Top photo was taken from the internet but our 2 fishes were slightly smaller.
