Hwa Heng Beef Noodle@ Boon Keng

The place is outside Boon Keng MRT Station (at the hawker center). The queue was very long and it took me almost 40 minutes to get the beef noodles (maybe it was during the lunch hour). The ones above cost $6 per bowl and they are tasty and cheap. The stall is closed on Monday and Tuesday and the operating hours are from 10 am till 2.30 pm. Go there before the lunch period and you probably queue for about 15 minutes.

I had this beef soup with rice at City Square Mall Food Republic (L4). Whenever I visit this place, I would almost always eat the $9 "3 types of meat"(beef with kway teow). However, today I decided to try the cheaper dish which is the above ($5.50). I found that there wasn't much difference between the two. It is as delicious as ever.
City Sq Mall is the place where I would meet and chat with my ex schoolmates and teacher. I do not go there often but perhaps 2 to 3 times a year. We moved around from mall to mall and the next one may be at Nex Mall.

Best beef kway teow in north eastern Singapore

I was with my friends at Kovan and went to eat this beef kway teow at block 203, Hougang St 11. It is by far the best beef kway teow in this area. A bowl of mixed meat noodles/kway teow cost $4 to $6 which is worth every cent. They provide sliced onions in chin cha lok and of course the usual chilli sauce. The queue is usually long at lunch time and must be prepared to wait for 20 minutes. I was there at about 2pm and so there was no queue at all. But that said I still prefer the one at Shaw House foodcourt which is quite expensive ($9). The place is airconditioned unlike the one at Hougang.

Beef kway teow

When Food Scholar took over the foodcourt from Kopitiam at Greenwich Seletar Hills' end of last year, they advertised among other stalls, will be one selling beef kway teow.
About half a year later the beef kway teow arrived. It began operation yesterday and here I was this morning waiting anxiously for it to open.
Yes, at 10:15 am it opened and I was the first customer. I ordered the most expensive one which has mixed beef (tendon, lean meat etc) and kway teow ($9). They also provided chili sauce and chin-cha-lok or fermented shrimps to go with the meal.
The first thing I did was to taste the soup. It was......a big disappointment. It was way below my expectation. The beef was not as tender and beefy as I expected. The tendon was so so....no kick at all compared to the one at Shaw House foodcourt or at City Square Mall (all same price at $9).
I don't think the stall will last more than 1 year of operation. Why? Because it's expensive and not authentic.
