Food stuff is rather inexpensive in Japan. The 304 gm of thinly sliced beef is S$ 6.50. Nine pieces of big fresh prawns (fit to eat as sashimi) is $7. We cooked the beef in sukiyaki style with leek and cabbage. The prawns were dipped in hot boiling water for a few seconds. We each had the above with 2 bowls of Japanese rice.
