Growing capsicum in our garden

Capsicum has lots of health benefits if you eat them regularly.
It is good for the eyes and even protects against prostate cancer.
It lowers cholesterol and protects against heart diseases.

Chilli Padi in abundance

Just from one chilli plant, we collected so much chilli padi. I plucked and placed them in 2 containers and after a week the chillies started to ripen again (last 2 bottom pics). Imagine if we have 10 plants.

Haze,haze go away

It has been 3 years since we had the haze from Indonesia. This time it's also in the unhealthy range. We pray that the wind will change its direction and blow the haze away. It will also be helpful if we could have rain but alas this is a dry season.

I am back

I took a month hiatus from blogging here as I was busy helping my ex colleagues in the SIA union election. Now that it is over, I am back here blogging again.
Will see what is in store tomorrow and will blog about it.

Chinese food is expensive in Sydney, Australia

A friend of mine sent me the above photos from Sydney. He and his family of 4 spent S$120 on their dinner which he complained that it was expensive. I agreed with him but the prices in SG would be about the same too.

Hwa Heng Beef Noodle@ Boon Keng

The place is outside Boon Keng MRT Station (at the hawker center). The queue was very long and it took me almost 40 minutes to get the beef noodles (maybe it was during the lunch hour). The ones above cost $6 per bowl and they are tasty and cheap. The stall is closed on Monday and Tuesday and the operating hours are from 10 am till 2.30 pm. Go there before the lunch period and you probably queue for about 15 minutes.

Hai Di Lao Hot Pot

We had a family dinner (6 of us) at Hai Di Lao. The food and service is quite good but rather pricey. The sauces for the "steam boat" cost an extra $4 per head for one type of sauce. We abstained from ordering the sauce.
The bill came to about $240 ($40 per person).

Eating spree (hawker food) since returning from Japan

There are more dishes which I've eaten and which I did not snap pictures. I missed some these food since living in Japan. I hope to have more of my favourite hawker food before returning to Japan.
