Foldable garden bench & table

We ordered the foldable bench/table online (below pictures) and was delivered to us yesterday. Bought the required wooden planks from a store nearby. Now we are giving the planks a few coatings of paint. The results will be shown here in the next few days.

Fresh from our garden

The brinjal or eggplant is from our garden. We sliced it into 2 pieces and stuffed it with cheese and a little bit of miso. It turned out to be delectable and enjoyable. The brown stuff is fried iwashi (sardine fish) coated with bread crumbs. The lettuce is also fresh from our garden.

Garden table,chair and parasol set

Bought the garden table and chair set as well as the parasol for a song (S$200). It is timely we got them as it is now springtime and would be useful right until end of October or end of autumn.
Since we can't afford a bungalow house with a garden in the expensive island of Singapore, we are taking advantage of the relatively cheap house and land in southern Japan. After all, one should have some space to enjoy life during retirement.

Growing snap peas in Japan

These snap peas in our garden are almost ready to be plucked and eaten. It took 5 months from November last year when we first planted it. It grew through the winter and now is harvest time. We do not use any chemical like pesticide etc.
It is a great feeling to have a small garden to grow plants, flowers etc. In Singapore, we can't afford to buy a house with even a small plot of land for gardening. Praise and thank the Almighty for this privilege!

Got up around 4:40am this morning and took the above shots. The house temperature as shown on the clock was 20C which was comfortable (outside temp about 17C).
The place is very quiet and peaceful. It is a good getaway from the hustle and bustle of Singapore.

A small garden at my in-law's old house

Before my in-laws sell off their 40+ year old house, I took a video of their small garden. There are plum trees, chives plant and others. They intend to either demolish the house and build another one or sell it off. Currently, they are living in the new house in which we are "camping".
