Penalty for parking in Japan

We were shocked to find a ticket on our car windscreen. A fine of about S$200 was imposed on us for parking in front of our friend's house for 20 minutes. It was weird because there was no "No Parking' sign or double yellow line etc on the road. Our vehicle did not in any way obstruct the traffic. In fact, it was a deserted area with hardly any traffic except for the residents' vehicles. This is Japan for us!

Fined for illegible parking in SG

The government's car park division is doing a roaring business by imposing heavy fines on vehicles that are parked indiscriminately at areas meant for loading/unloading of goods. Everyday, thousands of dollars in fine is being collected. This is not the only source of income for the government because there are many other ways in which they could impose fines on motorists, example: speeding, running the red lights etc. People who use their mobile phones while driving is also subjected to being fined as well as drink driving.

Water heater and a traffic fine !

Finally, bought a water heater tank 15 litre from Jalan Besar for $320 inclusive of installation. Uncle Benny, the manager is a courteous man unlike the sales woman from Poh Seng a few doors away who was rude and unhappy serving us yesterday.

I kena fined $130 and received a 4 demerit points for speeding. WTF !...Lentor Ave is a 3 lane road and the speed limit is 60 KM/P. Below 60 KM/P one has to literary crawl like a snail. I was probably going at 70 KM/P....this whole thing sucks!!
