Today's meals...not so healthy?

Lunch was sushi at Sushi Express and dinner was Classic Cheese Angus Beef Burger at McDonald's.
The burger was excellent and cost only $8.95 a piece. If you want the meal set it costs $10.95. The cheese literally melt and the Angus beef was pure 100% beef. I added another $1.10c for a regular cup of Mochaccino from McCafe.

Lunch @ Sushi Express & Chinese dinner

We should eat more fish, in particular salmon which is excellent for the overall health. That's the main reason I like to eat salmon sashimi and salmon sushi. There are at least 8 good reasons why we should include more salmon in our diet.

  1. Whole body wellness
  2. Bone & joints
  3. Brain and neurological repairs
  4. Focus & memory in children
  5. Heart health
  6. Eye sight
  7. Healthy skin
  8. Salmon Omega-3's kill cancer

Yakiniku Lunch

Sushi/sashimi@ Sushi Express for dinner

We had our dinner at "Sushi Express" near our place. We didn't eat much as we were not very hungry. We had 6 plates of sushi/sashimi each. Each plate is $1.50 which is considered as reasonable. The sushi & sashimi are fresh and we do not feel thirsty like at Sake Sushi.

Conveyor belt sushi at "Go Sushi "

We had sushi for lunch today. Each piece, regardless of size or content is priced at $1.50 per plate. We ate our favourite salmon sushi most of the time. Overall the food is good and the place is almost always full especially during the weekends and public holidays.

Description of conveyor belt sushi is given below by Wikipedia:

Conveyor belt sushi , literally "rotation sushi", also called sushi-go-round is a form of sushi restaurant common in Japan. In Australia, it is also known as a sushi train. Kaiten-zushi is a sushi restaurant where the plates with the sushi are placed on a rotating conveyor belt or moat that winds through the restaurant and moves past every table and counter seat. Customers may place special orders, but most simply pick their selections from a steady stream of fresh sushi moving along the conveyor belt. The final bill is based on the number and type of plates of the consumed sushi. Some restaurants use a fancier presentation such as miniature wooden "sushi boats" travelling small canals or miniature locomotive cars.

Ex-stewardess with full haze protection

Haze clearing up but not for long

(Photo taken from my apartment)

According to the weather man, the wind has changed direction a little this morning and we are getting a temporary respite. The 3 hour PSI reading is 81 as at 10 am. Albeit the condition is just temporary but many are now out shopping, eating and having fun in the sun.
I read an article in Today's newspaper that someone suggested we pay Indonesia not to burn their forests and peat land so we would not have this haze problem. What kind of crazy idea was that! The writer justified her idea by stating that we are paying Malaysia for our water so why not pay the Indonesians too.

Sushi Express@ Seletar Mall for early dinner

Early dinner to us is the off-peak period around 4:30 pm when the place is less crowded. By the time we left at 5:40 pm there was a long queue outside Sushi Express. We ate 11 plates of sushi, sashimi and desserts each and the bill came to about $39 inclusive of 7% GST and 10% service charge.
The cheese cake and mango pudding are delicious. The sushi and sashimi are fresh and tasty and worth every cent we spent. As today is Sunday, the menu has a bigger and better spread as compared to weekdays.
Please note that the seaweed Sushi Express use to wrap the sushi is not crisp so we do not usually eat those.

The Haze is back again

The haze situation has deteriorated from a PSI reading of 81 this morning at 10 am  to 118 at 7 pm. We are now in the lower end of the unhealthy range.
I heard  FINA World Swimming Championship has cancelled some of its events due the haze situation here. It was supposed to be held over the weekend. Meanwhile, FINA is mulling over the idea of suing the companies which are responsible for starting the haze in Indonesia.
