It is a strange world we are living in. I mean if one is doing badly, everyone will avoid you but if one if doing well you will have parasites coming to you for loans, help etc.
I used to wonder why some of my wealthy and influential class/schoolmates avoid us. They are afraid you may borrow money or make use of them. I do not blame them.
There was one who invited the classmates to invest in a company of his. Many thought it was a good opportunity and pumped in thousands of dollars. After a year or so, the company announced losses and folded up. Many were sore with him and could not recover their money.
Another case was that of a crew. He was doing well in his restaurant business. In the first 3 years of operation, he made 1 cool million. Then his colleagues begged him to let them have a piece of the pie. He relented and sold them for $10,000 per share. At least 10 of them readily handed him the money. A year later, the restaurant lost a lot of money and closed down. Only a few got a portion of their investment back.
The owner is now driving a cab.
