Super Typhoon Haishen is expected to hit our place by Monday, starting from Sunday night (tomorrow) with strong wind up to 290 km per hour. There will be lots of rainfall.
Last week, we had a milder typhoon known as Typhoon Maysak. While it caused some damages to Southern Japan, it did spare our area.
We visited 2 supermarkets this morning and found some panic buying of bottled water, canned food and instant and cup noodles. People are stocking up water and food items in case of emergency. Even cooking gas canisters were flying off the shelves.
Meanwhile, we are securing items in our garden and around the exterior of the house etc in case the typhoon sweeps them away.
Below is a video of what typhoon Maysak did to a ship that carried livestock on its way to China from New Zealand.
