After a hearty meal of kway chup which made us feel guilty (pig's intestine, stomach etc), we headed home and cooked some veggies to supplement our fibreless and vitaminless kway chup.
It's not often that we eat asparagus but I understand that it contains lots of vitamins and folate which could help lift our spirits. Therefore, asparagus is good for people who are depressed.

The kway chup and Tampines Court story

Had this trotter and kway chup (kc) yesterday at Tampinese St 11. The kc lady knows us and without saying anything, she dished out the above for us. The cost came up to $18 which is reasonable because the food was absolutely nice.
Situated next to this kc coffee shop is Tampines Court. I had a friend who used to live here but he sold his unit off about 3 years ago at $700,000. Had he stay put, he could easily get $1.7 million for his unit. The place is up for en bloc collective sale and a company has put in a bid price of $970 million. What a shame because my friend could have made $1 million more. Instead, he invested in a property in Johore which is now losing in value.

Our favourite kway chup

After our kopi and papaya at home ( 2 hours later) we drove to Tampines St 11 for our favourite kway chup and pig's trotter ($16). This stall selling the kway chup is not doing as well as say 10 years ago. Business is down but the quality of the food is still as good. The lady hawker told me the rental she is paying for the stall is $6,000 per month and this is the third increase since a few years ago.
She would relinquish her business if the rental should go up again, she told me.
However, my guess is, she makes a net profit of around $15,000 a month. She does not employ any worker except the dish washer guy. Her husband is also helping out in the business.

Breakfast and LG washer

After our pig's trotter and kway chup breakfast at Tampines St 11, we proceeded to Courts to buy the LG washer. We had one which lasted for more than 12 years. The one (Kuche) that replaced the 12 year old LG was unserviceable only after 1 year and 11 months. It came with a 1 year warranty whereas the Korean made LG came with a 2 year warranty. Below is the one (8kg) which we've ordered and will be delivered in 2 days time. Total cost including delivery is about $470.

Kway Chup@ Tampines St 11 & a new sofa set

Whenever we are in the vicinity of Tampines, we will pay a visit to the Kway Chup stall at a coffee shop at Street 11. The elderly lady who sells the Kway Chup is the cook and owner. The chilli sauce is one of its kind.
The plate on your left is the pig trotter (shin part of pig's leg). We had the above for dinner last night.

The New Sofa Set

We discarded our old sofa set and got this one a few days ago. We like this set because it is smaller than the usual ones with the backrest not too far inside.
