Harvesting Broccoli and Turnips

Finally, the above vegetables are harvested. The broccoli tasted as good as the turnips or daikon as it is known in Japan.

Kaya toast set and home cooked dinner

This morning we had the kaya & butter toasts set for breakfast. Being a Saturday, the place was quite crowded by 9:30 am.
As for dinner, we decided to eat at home. My wife prepared the mentaiko pasta, tang hoon or glass noodles with cherry tomatoes and sliced prawns. The veggie dish was broccoli with Japanese dressing.

Dessert at Saizeriya + dinner at home

Afternoon dessert at Saizeriya. The topmost picture is the iced tiramisu ($4.90) and the second picture is the oreo cheese cake ($3.90). The latter tasted better than the tiramisu.
I noticed the ex-IFS is no longer working at Saizeriya. Perhaps, he could not cope with the robust work due to his age (67) and was asked to leave. Poor chap.

A simple home dinner

Had a simple home prepared dinner of sambal goreng and broccoli with rice.

Last night home cooked dinner

Since we ate hawker food for lunch (noodles), we decided to have home cooked dinner. The assam fish was a delightful dish and the fried chicken was even more tastier. We also have lots of boiled Australian broccoli with home made dressing.

Brown soba (buckwheat Japanese noodles)

Had this for lunch. It is light and healthy and contains lots of fibre and is high in proteins. It is refreshing if chilled especially on a hot day like today. Soba is taken with soba sauce (not in the pic), seaweed and wasabi or mustard. I also add a plate of boiled broccoli with the meal.

Home prepared light dinner

After having the sliced fish soup and rice for lunch and snacks in the afternoon, I decided to have something light and nutritious for my dinner. I boiled the broccoli and made some dressing using miso, apple cider vinegar and crushed mustard seeds. My "dessert" was the small bowl of roasted cashew and almonds nuts. It was a refreshing meal indeed.
