Chinese New Year Eve reunion dinner

Eating Yu Sheng during Chinese New Year is a cultural activity for Chinese living in Singapore and Malaysia, but not so much in other Chinese-populated countries such as Hong Kong, where the practice is almost unheard of.
Yushengyee sang or yuu sahng or Prosperity Toss, also known as lo hei is a Cantonese-style raw fish salad. It usually consists of strips of raw fish (sometimes salmon), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients.
reunion dinner is held on New Year's Eve of the Chinese and Vietnamese New Years, during which family members get together to celebrate. It is often considered the most important get-together meal of the entire year.

Had the usual CNY eve reunion dinner with my siblings this evening. Spent 3 hours with them chatting about old times etc etc. The dinner this year was not so delicious as my sister-in-law who was the cook resort to cooking mostly healthy stuff. The dishes either lacked salt or spices etc. Nevertheless, she is still a great cook!
